Chichicpatli

Style: Pale Ale
Cerveceria La Bru, Morelia, Mexico

This collaborative Slow Beer was created by the master brewers of La Bru and Baja Brewing in celebration of Mexico’s national flower, the Dahlia. Called “Chichicpatli”, meaning bitter medicine, in Nahuatl, the dahlia root is native to Mexico and was once an important food source in the Aztec capital. Here we create a magical blend of the unique sweet and earthy flavors of this Slow Food Ark of Taste ingredient with a refreshing balance of hops, hibiscus flower and pale malts. Its authentic flavors and festive pink color delight the senses and bring the spirit of Mexico to your table. Chichicpatli pairs well with fish, seafood, white meats and spiced dishes. It has received numerous awards including gold medal in the Abierto Mexicano de Cervezas. It has 5.5% abv, and a medium light body. Floral aroma dominates, with a subtle hop bitterness in the palate and a clean, dry finish. Salud!
