"At the prestigious Publican Awards held at the Grosvenor House hotel in London the industry's finest were hailed among their peers this week. More than 1,200 guests from across the industry enjoyed the 21st anniversary of the event, hosted by Jimmy Carr.
Thornbridge triumphed in the Best Pub Operating Microbrewer category – a new category this year reflecting the great number of smaller breweries that now operate pubs.
After a rigorous judging process involving mystery judging visits to their pubs and a panel interview with some of the leading figures from the beer world Thornbridge were announced the winner. The judges felt that “in only six years the brewery has created a high profile brand which is recognised and admired across the country. The company slogan of Innovation Passion Knowledge runs through everything they do and their beers and pubs have positioned Thornbridge at the very forefront of the British craft brewing”..."

The East Midlands award for the Most Innovative Small to Medium Sized Food and Drink Manufacturer was presentedto Thornbridge Brewery, Bakewell, Derbyshire.
The judges praised the brewery for the way in which it employed a centrifuge process more commonly used in the wine industry to manufacture fresh beer in a bottle, which is neither filtered nor pasteurised, saying:“We were pleased to see a previous category winner in the Innovation Awards still innovating and creating opportunity for themselves. Using a cross sector approach has given the company commercial advantage which they have used to bring a new dimension to a very traditional industry.”
