Old Norse Jule

Style: Christmas Mead
Dansk Mjod A/S, Billund, Denmark

19% ABV
Nordic honey wine with hops, ginger, cinnamon & sour apple juice added

Vikings believed midwinter was a haunted, "liminal" time when the boundary between the living and the dead grew dangerously thin. During these nights, Odin (Jólfaðr) led the Wild Hunt—a terrifying procession of ghosts and undead warriors across the night sky—while villagers practiced Julebukking, donning masks and animal skins to ward off evil spirits while going door-to-door for food and drinks.
Old Norse Jule revives the spirit of the midwinter feast.
It is a warming elixir specifically brewed to help you survive these dark, haunted nights and raise a sacred toast to the spirits.
Crisp sour apple juice cuts through the velvety sweetness of pure honey, while festive cinnamon and fiery ginger bring the warmth of the hearth. With a subtle bitter crush of hops, this complex honey wine is a true toast to the changing seasons. Skål!"
