Style: Historic "Koelsch"
Privatbrauerei Heinrich Reissdorf, Koln, Germany
Inspired by “Kölsch” historic journey from the 14th century to the “Kölsch Konvention of 1986” that granted the “Kölsch style” A.O.C. (Appellation d'origine contrôlée).
Around 1400 a unique brew called “Keutebier” made its way into the city of Cologne.
Then in the 19th century the innovation of indirect kilning during industrial revolution allowed brewmasters to create “Altrheinisches-Hopfenbitteres” sometimes also referred to as “Kölsch Wiess”. It was top-fermenting and cold aged, unfiltered and quite hoppy. It was the historic forerunner of our Reissdorf Kölsch.
What was it like? Enjoy Reissdorf “Dröppche” (Cologne dialect for “little drop”), for a trip back in the history of "Kölsch".
