Style: Smoke Beer
Brauerei Heller-Trum/ Aecht Schlenkerla, Bamberg, Germany
Piwo Grodziskie is a traditional beer specialty from Poland. This historic beer style owes its name to the town of Grätz or Grodzisk Wielkopolski, which is located southwest of Poznan.
The palatable, top-fermented beer was already brewed and enjoyed here in the Middle Ages. Grodziskie celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2025. To mark this anniversary, there is now also a Schlenkerla interpretation of this Polish beer classic: Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier in the Grätzer style. We dry wheat smoked malt in our own malt house over an open fire made of oak wood. We use Polish aroma hops from Lubelski for the herbal, aromatic hop note. The result is a top-fermented, drinkable beer with a light smoky aroma, a herbal hop note, fine-pearled carbonation and a very moderate alcohol content.
