Brouwerij Alvinne, Ingelmunster, Belgium
Cuvee Freddy
Cuvee Freddy is the barrel aged version of Alvinne's dark sour "Sigma". Sigma is a 10% abv sour brewed with aged hops (like lambic) and the breweries super sour Morpheus yeast. Sigma on it's own has both rich chocolate notes and a intense sourness that's not overwhelming and can be reminiscent of red wine. That's then added to actual red wine barrels from France to create the Cuvee Freddy!

SPECIAL EDITION: Cuvee Freddy Sofie
Flemish BLOND Sour Ale Aged in Oak Barrels
NOTE: Even though it is called Cuvee Freddy it is actually not as this base beer is a blond ale and the base for Cuvee Freddy is a dark ale.
This is a BLOND SOUR ALE that is 10% alc/vol. Then aged in French Burgundy wine barrels with Alvinne's Morpheus yeast
This version is a blend of Alvinne's base sour ale plus amber ale (using 40% wheat malt with some of it unmalted). The ratio used in lambics and then this beer aged in Burgundy barrels for about 12 months.
