Style: Winter Warmer
Birrificio Loverbeer, Marentino, Italy
A Renna Glueh is Loverbeer's winter beer!
As with many of Loverbeer's product the name is a mixture of the Piedmontese dialect and Flemish. This beer is inspired from the "gluhkriek" and "gluhwein" (mulled wine). The recipe is the D'uvabeer to which he adds winter spices: cinnamon, cloves, star anise and orange peel. A Renna Glueh can be enjoyed cold but they recommend this to be warmed up.
The flavor and aroma includes star anies, black cherry, citron fruit, bitter orange, clove, cinnamon, and elderflower.
A very complex and intriguing take on a beer/mulled wine.
