Carnegie Porter is a Swedish beer classic. It has been brewed since 1836 and the oldest registered brand in Sweden.

This brew has a slightly roasted aroma with hint of brown sugar and coffee. The taste is round and complex with hints of chocolate and coffee and a slight bitterness in the aftertaste.

Carnegie Porter is a great beer to vintage, as it will improve by storage for 10 years and more. What happens is not a continued fermentation as in some lives beers, but rather it is the same process as when a wine matures. After a year or two the taste will become very smooth and balanced. The aroma will become richer and complex and in some respect similar to an old Madeira wine.
