Style: Tripel
De Dolle Brouwers, Esen, Belgium
De Dulle Teve 20 Plato Blond is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candy sugar in the brew kettle. It is unfiltered, unpasteurized and bottle-conditioned.
De Dulle Teve 20 Plato Blond keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing [up to 10 years] will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.
The label bears the drawing of an artist of Bruges who had designed the label for a special beer to be featured at a pub in the town of Esen. When the De Dolle brewers took over the brewery, they found some of these old labels already attached to bottles, and decided to put them back in use.
The original De Dulle Teve, meaning 'Mad Bitch' was a one time brew and had been forgotten until a couple of years ago when the de Dolle Brewers thought that making a good triple would not be a bad idea.
Serve at 8 degrees C, store upright in a cool place.
